Emily Reed travels to New York City to interview with a law firm, which offers her a job if she flies to Rio de Janeiro the following morning. Emily agrees and is introduced to Claudia Dennis, one of the firm's top executives. They arrive in Rio to finalize the purchase of a hotel, but Claudia must fly to Buenos Aires to meet the owner. Claudia instructs Emily to cover her date that night. The date is a wealthy man named James Wheeler. They have dinner accompanied by Wheeler's bodyguards.

Wheeler intrigues Emily; he is quiet and asks personal questions without being demanding or rude. After dinner, they attend a street carnival. Emily leaves after a masked man who looks like Wheeler tries to seduce her. The next morning, Emily wakes to find Wheeler watching her. He gives her a bouquet of orchids and denies making advances toward her the previous evening. As an apology, he offers to show her the city. They attend a party with a married couple they noticed in the restaurant. Navy sailors at the party make advances on the wife; Wheeler fights them off, and he, Emily, and the couple leave in his limousine. The married couple is having problems because of the wife's infidelity. She wants to reconcile with her husband. Wheeler encourages the couple to have sex in the limo. Emily finds their actions disturbing. Emily and Wheeler visit the hotel that her firm wants to buy, and she tells Wheeler that she fears he would disappear if she touched him. When Emily hugs Wheeler, he pulls away, telling her he does not like being touched.

That night, Emily dresses up for the carnival festivities and is propositioned by a man in a mask who offers her his room key. Wheeler encourages her to accept. She realizes Wheeler is incapable of acting upon his own emotions and tries to experience passion through others. Emily agrees to the stranger's proposal and has sex with him.

Claudia returns to Rio with the hotel's owner and arranges a meeting at the airport. Emily is humiliated when she discovers that Jerome, the owner's attorney, is the stranger she slept with; Jerome uses their encounter to intimidate Emily into getting a better deal. Claudia discovers the truth and uses the information to threaten Jerome; if he does not complete the deal, she will tell his wife about the affair. After the meeting, Claudia asks Emily about Wheeler. She tells Emily that Wheeler was an only child who stuttered and is a self-made man. Claudia confides that she has long been obsessed with Wheeler, but he has never touched her. Claudia's assistants tell her a man bought the deed to the hotel before the deal was finalized; both women realize it was Wheeler, who confirms it. Claudia proceeds with the hotel's sale, hoping to circumvent Wheeler's actions.

Claudia arranges a party to commemorate the sale of the hotel. The next morning, she invites a young surfer to her room and asks Emily to translate what the Portuguese surfer says. Claudia and the surfer are about to have sex (implying that Emily is free to join them) when Wheeler interrupts. Emily accuses Wheeler of setting people up to disappoint him and then throwing them aside. He responds that he never sets anybody up; they disappoint him of their own accord. A package is later delivered to Emily's room; Wheeler has signed over the hotel's deed, saving the deal. Emily finds Wheeler and tells him she loves him, but leaves when he does not respond.

That night, Emily returns to her room, where Wheeler is waiting for her. He tells Emily that after he accumulated wealth, women became attracted to him, and he started playing games to keep things interesting. The games became a way of life, and he cannot stop playing them. Emily encourages Wheeler to reach out to her, offering him her love if he makes an effort to touch her. At first, he resists, but he reaches out and holds her when he thinks she will leave him. The two embrace and have sex. They later ride away on a motorcycle together.

The Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar After-Party was filled with star-studded glamour and silicone filler.  The designer dresses were custom-made, but  the celebrities are accustomed to wearing almost nothing and showing their butts (I'm not talking the butt of a joke or cigarette butt).

 

Halle Berry is the requisite Hollywood Oscar winning actress. Since her unprecedented win for best actress several decades ago, she has been invited to the attend the Oscars as a guest. She is still desperately trying to maintain her relevance in mainstream pop culture. This Oscar 2025 dress is giving silver shattered mirror glamour by Christian Siriano. Christian Siriano, won on the reality show Project runway and is making a serious attempt to be the quintessential American designer of the stars. Christian Siriano also styled Whoopi Goldberg, another legendary old Oscar-winning actress. Everyone deemed this dress the mirror dress because of its opulent reflective silver sequins resembling shatter mirror shards. It's giving body-con diva vibes. The dress is half soft white fabric on top. There was another controversial kiss for Benjamin Brody with Halle Berry grabbing him and laying a big smooch on his lips right in front of his significant other (anything to steal the limelight from the Oscar-winning actor). Since her historic Oscar win for best actress in 2002 wearing an Elie Saab dress, she has not been nominated again for her successive roles after "Monster's Ball." Halle has been in a number of roles but has failed to re-capture the world's attention for her other work. Looks like the filler and facials are giving her a new lease on life. She seems to be seizing the moment reminiscent of her younger self.

Ayo Edebiri (actress) in Prada looks more like a slip or the lining of a dress. The fabric was flowing and elegant going back to the basic minimalist concept of chic with no accessories or bright colors.

 

Ashley Olsen is in vintage Christina Dior.  This voluminous sheer overlay veils a beaded sequin gown that is floral and floor-length.  Ashley used to be the other twin that formed the sister duo Mary-Kate and Ashley.  They had a series of direct to video movie in the 1990's that were fabulously successful as well as a clothing line.  Fans were hungry for anything the twins put on the market.  Unfortunately, one of the twin girls, Mary-Kate, had a serious problem with eating disorders (severe anorexia and bulimia).  It was rumored that the poor box office showing of "A New York Minute" caused a drastic body image issue that plummeted her self-esteem.  The dramatic eye make-up is punctuated with a punk rock thick eyeliner and thick layers of mascara.  This look reminds me of a collage of generation, vintage dress, with a tangerine hippie vide and an edgy modern approach to make-up with nonchalant beach wavy hair. 

 

Amiee Lou Wood is casual and sleek, reminiscent of the Matrix full-length leather belted waist coat.  This was a schoolgirl whimsical look with white ankle-high socks and flat shoes over sheer stockings.  The bag was girly, and the coat was dark and serious looking.  The dark glasses were more likely an attempt to hide a late night of serious thought about her next role. 

  

Megan the Stallion is in full stride with this custom-made revealing dress.  This bespoke creation exposes her breast with only pastie to conceal her nipple.  The feathers flattered the bustline looking like foliage surrounding her bosom.  Megan's voluptuous curses were accentuated with this army-green muted shade.  The train puddles on the floor causing her to move in an intentional way with careful footing.  Megan reminds me of a woman who has just entered the witness protection program with her varying hairstyles.  She does not seem to have a recognizable hairstyle that makes her identifiable such as celebrities like Beyonce (who is always photographed in her iconic curly money piece).  Megan opted for a side-sweep waterfall bang with her hair up in large pin-curls.   

Selena Gomez is trying to make this shiny sequin dress look like a black lacquered hourglass.  The sweet-heart neckline is strapless revealing her shameless shoulders.  Her hair does not cover her curves at the croft cut length above her shoulder.  This side-parted layered bob draws attention to her figure and face instead of putting too much attention on her hair.  When a girl does not have extensively long tresses you notice the girl, then you notice the dress, instead of just looking at how extremely long her hair is.  With hair or without, Selena is showing that less is more without going too bare and revealing.  The dress is giving a hint of simple elegance that harkens back to the day of old Hollywood glamour of the 1940's 

 

Here, Selena Gomez and her beau (prominent producer) Benny Blanco.  Selena is now showing off her glitzy engagement ring as a fiancé.  This new title adds to a number of slashes that Selena Gomez already proudly touts like badges of honor.  Selena is a TV teen actress, singer and sometimes dancer.  It seems likes she is hooking up with a famous music producer who worked with pop-star staples such as Britney Spears.  Benny produced the song "Circus" with Britney and now his life is turning into a circus fiasco as he is paraded around with the next generation of singers that have taken Britney's place on the airwaves and at the top of the charts.  Benny also produced Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" Selena looks serious in black dresses that seem to make her figure sleeker and slenderer.  Selena has faced criticism for her yo-yoing weight and fluctuating figure.  Her black dresses seem sensible and mature, a demonstration of good taste and simplicity with edgy constraint.  Benny has a don't care holy sequin bead studded jeans look that say shabby chic but no-doubt designer and expensive.  

Sofia Richie is looking like a Goth princess in a statuesque black structured sequin dress by designer Armani Prive.  Her feet are invisible in this dress giving her the appearance of extended height.  Sofia had recently gotten married but showed up solo to this 2025 event.  She is also stressing simplicity with the lack of jewelry and accessories.  The hair and make-up were under stated with loose body waves and muted lipstick shades and slightly smoky eyes make-up 

 

Sydney Sweeney (HBO's Euphoria actress) is adorned in the tight figure fitting fishtail dress from designer Mui Mui.  The dress seemed to follow the 2025 formal even look of trains and sequins.  The neckline takes the place of a flashy piece of jewelry that accentuates the cleavage.  The long smooth hair drapes over the shoulder and hides any glimpse of earrings as the maximum length dress also elongates her lines and hides her feet adding the illusion of increased height.

 

Sydney Sweeney (Handmaid's Tale actress) wows again in this corsetry.  The exaggerated hips and cinched waist created a curvy snatched appearance.  This is a dress by designer Wiederhoeft.  The dress has a utilitarian sort of belt buckle that did not seem necessary and seemed out of place.  The pointed-toe shoes peeked out from underneath the maxi long dress.  The hair was wavy and not at all fussy with a center part.  This trend of ultra body-con silhouettes is a slippery slope that will lead to the same corsetry obsession that took place in the Victorian era.  In the 1890 women used to constrict their bodies in the corset because matriarchs such as Queen Victoria made it popular.  Waspy American women in the affluent fashionable social circles used to boast about having an 18-inch waist that had been trained in a corset from the age of 12 or younger.  Women were crushing their vital organs and causing permanent damage to their reproductive organs and digestive track to create the tiniest waistline.  In the 1700's women exaggerated their hips in custom-made corsets with ribbing made from metal or whale bones.   The updated trend is to inject silicone into the hips and thighs to create an hourglass figure with a smaller waist.  Some women have even lost limbs and lost their lives trying to manipulate their bodies into their own distorted unrealistic silicone fantasies filled with injectable fillers.   

Teyana Taylor posed in a full-length double-breasted coat by designer Schiaparelli at a 2025 event.  Teyana got her start choreographing dance moves for a Beyonce video "Ring the Alarm" in 2006.  She was in the Eddy Murphy sequel "Coming 2 America" in 2021 and several other noteworthy dramatic acting roles that have created a buzz during award season. She married a professional athlete Iman Shumpert, a basketball player who had already garnered many accolades in the realm of sports.  They were wed from 2016 to 2024.  Teyana's wedding dress was dramatic and sexy showing off her curves.  Now that she is a single woman.  She is military inspired and buttoned up with brass buttons and chains.  Not much skin is showing with this masculine jet figure flattering look.  Teyana also tends to stick with the pixie cut that is now becoming her signature hairstyle.  

  

 

Tracee Ellis Ross (daughter of 1960's Motown music icon Diana Ross and "Black-ish" actress) shows up to the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar party in this shaggy fringe tattered dress by designer Alexandre Vaulthier (Marc Jacobs). The dress is a shapeless amorphous gathering of fabric.  Perhaps the dressed moved in a alluring way when she walked that made of the fringe make sense.  The necklace added a much-needed contrast of color and pizazz to the dress that seemed like a tribal inspire necklace bib that was just above her deep plunging cleavage.  The dress appeared to be covering every inch of her skin until she walks to reveal her arms and legs.  When she is standing still the dress seems demure and understated and when she moves it seems brazen and revealing.  

 

Lupita Nyong'o is a best actress Oscar-winning celebrity that is known for her role in "12 Years a Slave" the 2013 critically acclaimed film.  Lupita endowed her voice to an animated character in her most recent film "Wild Robot" in 2024.  This is her appearance at a March 2025 event dressed in a skin-bearing micro-mini dress by designer Jonathan Cohen.  Lupita is rocking some ultra small dreadlocks that are pulled back in a bob that hovers just above her shoulders.  Her earrings are put on display as well as her necklace.  Her jewelry did not have to be large statement chunky pieces to accessorize this shiny satin patterned dress with matching shoes.  What I always wonder is: how does a girl sit down in such a short dress without feeling the cold chill of the chair on her backside?

 

Caitriona Balfe (former fashion model, turned actress, producer and director) is wearing a dress by designer Louis Vuitton.  She used to model for Louis Vuitton and Chanel before becoming a leading actress in the Starz series "Outlander."  This dress may be from a famous designer, but it reminds me of a crinkled tablecloth or crape paper decoration.  The trend seems to be maxi floor-length formal wear for women.  The shoes seem to be pointed toe shoes with stiletto heels.  The vibrant color is evocative a bright summer and spring sunshine.  I just wish that she would take the granny shawl off from around her shoulders, then I realize that it is part of her dress.  The dress is simple and can't miss with blatantly long luxurious fabric but has a lack-luster effect on me paired with the dark burgundy lipstick and razor-thin eyebrows. I think there is a double standard for women in Hollywood.  Women have to appear glamourous and in shape to direct and produce while men can gain weight and be haphazardly dressed and still garner the respect of their peers, who seldom make a remark about what designer they are wearing.  Perhaps her stylist chose this dress for her, and she liked the color and the Louis Vuitton label and wore it without question.  The superficiality of meticulous details in fashion should be left to the actresses to worry about instead of the directors and producers.    

  

Lisa, (the Korean K-Pop singer/rapper from the group Blackpink) shows up to the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar party in this structured, stiff, Goth-like black dress by designer Sohee Couture.  She has recently appeared in the "White Lotus" series on HBO.  Her dress resembled the petals of a large black flower.  the black lace covers every part of her arm and hand like a glove.  The theme of creating hips and a fishtail hourglass shape has been repetitively displayed at the vanity Fair Oscars in 2025.  Lisa has also seemed to cut off her usually long tresses opting for an above the shoulder brown bob. While other actresses had shied away from accessories and jewelry, Lisa has layered a necklace on top of busy embellished black lace creating confusion.  You wonder if the necklace is sewn into the dress or if it is thrown on at the lat minute.  I am reminded of the famous quote by Coco Chanel, "Before you leave the house look in the mirror and take one thing off."  Women with style tend to over accessorize and might look better without the extra layers of stuff. Coco, herself, was notorious for muti-layered necklaces.  

Kendall Jenner (Hulu's "The Kardashians" reality show personality turned supermodel) appears at the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar party in a rubber black lace sheer dress with a train. The dress by designer Theirry Mulger.  The bell statement sleeves cover her arms, and the slit goes all the way up to the past her knee.  This is one of the celebrities that decided to show her leg.  She also opted for the pointed toe stiletto heels.  For some reason this dress also feels very bewitching, similar to Angelica Houston in the "Addams Family." Kendall also cut her hair above her shoulder and slicked it back behind her ear.  Celebrities seem to be getting away from the lace-front wigs and extensive hair extensions that had been prevalent with the Kardashian girls in previous years.  

Kim Kardashian in Balenciaga ballgown that was evocative of a wedding dress.  Perhaps the reality star is in the mood for marriage again (three times the charm).  The multi-layered puffy dress was giving a Victoria corseted look that had a fitted and tailored look in the back showing off her famous physique.  The theme of the evening seemed to be minimalism with jewelry and accessories.  Kim's infamous diamonds were absent from this star-studded event while her glistening sun-drenched skin took center stage showcasing her naked shoulder, arms and back.   The dress was demure and modest in the front and flamboyant and tight in the back accentuating her famous derriere.  We only hope that her famous sisters will be the heirs to her reign as the most scrutinized and celebrated reality celebrity in recent years.  

Kanye showed up at several events with his new wife Bianca Censori in 2025.  When Kanye and Kim were together, she dressed for the Met Gala's "Camp" Theme in 2019.  The idea was look like she was dripping wet, and her clothes were clinging to her sinewy curves. The corset was bespoke and created as couture fashion piece by Thierry Mugler.  The corset cut deep grooves into her skin and caused her breath in short shallow breathes throughout the evening.  As they say, "beauty is pain."  This sentiment harkens back to the days of fainting couches for women wearing corsets to recline on in the Victorian era.  I would suggest to just build on hips to the side of the dress instead of crushing your ribs to train the waist down to an unrealist and unnatural size that could cause permanent damage to internal organs. 

At a recent 2025 award show Bianca Censori (Australian architect) was in a heavily censored dress that had to be blurred out because it was barely there (she was practically nude).  Meanwhile, influential fashion mogul Kanye West stayed completely clothed (exploiting his wife's sexuality as an asset). Julia Fox (actress and model) was Kanye's gal pal previous to his impromptu marriage to Biancia Censori, which reportedly ended in 2025.  She was also a muse and fashion experiment for the somewhat allegedly domineering control of Kanye West. Both women seemed to act as mannequins for Kanye's next fashion movement.  he is still trying to regroup from losing his wife, his spot on the Kardashian's show, and his sneaker deal with Adidas YEEZY.

Lindsay Lohan (actress of "Parent Trap") showed at the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar party in a latex skin-tight dress by designer Balenciaga that dragged the ground.  It seemed that no celebrity female wanted to show their legs at this Oscar party for 2025.  Many celebs would long dresses that were fishtail shaped with long trains, as if they all got the same memo or had the same fashion stylist.  Lindsay decided to wear a necklace that it bib-length decorating her neckline resting on her clavicle.  She is the vibrant redhead turned dishwater blonde with playful freckles and understated glamour.   Balenciaga had gotten some scrutiny and backlash from some S&M inspired bondage clothing for young children.  As a former child star Lindsay shows some sexy maturity in the figure-flattering dress. 

 

Lily Rose Depp (Nosferatu 2024 film actress and daughter of Johnny Depp) in belly-bearing midriff top that is practically just a bra.  This crop top was from designer house of Chanel.  She decided to cover her legs in a maxi skirt but expose her torso in a playful embellished floral top.  She may have been in a film about a horrific legendary vampire, but she showed some sun-drenched skin in a more relaxed style (freer form).  Her style was juxtaposed to the corseted Victorian look that was popular on the red carpet this year and also prominently displayed in her period style film Nosferatu. 

 

Lady Gaga appeared at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party in a red dress by designer Mcqueen.  The dress had a ruffled trim that seemed to drag the floor, adorned with long bishop sleeves with sheer fabric.  the high neckline veiled her female figure and matched her luscious lipstick.  The short cut dark bob was a theme seen on many celebrities and Gaga followed suit as it there was a protocol to obey. This non-blonde look for Gaga seems to be a more low-key era for her.  She also performed at the Grammy's in a brunette look with Bruno Mars earlier this year. Lady Gaga is known for her outlandish and avante-garde fashion which is denoted as being experimental and visually bizarre or queer. Gaga is infamous for depicting unusual and left of the mainstream clothing to capture the attention of the media.  As soon as Lady Gaga emerged as a fashion icon Alexander Mcqueen suddenly committed suicide leaving a vacant spot for Lady Gaga to make shocking strange fashion statements in his posthumous memory.  Lady Gaga has repeatedly reiterated that Mcqueen was one of her favorite and most inspiring designers.  

Lady Gaga appears at the Grammy's 2025 on the red carpet for the "Musicares Fire Relief" to help raise money for the wildfire victims of Los Angeles.  the dark drastic hair seems more like a Goth girl look.  The make-up was bright red.  Without her iconic platinum blonde wigs Lady Gaga is almost unrecognizable.  This reminds me of the phase that pop icon Madonna went through in the early 2000's when she did the "Frozen" video.  

 

Katie Holmes (Dawson's Creek actress ex-wife of Tom Cruise) appeared at the Vanity Fair 2025 Oscar in a dress by designer Tory Burch for the Vanity Fair party. Katie was in a mid-length patterned dress with bishop sleeves and sheer fabric.  She showed up unescorted carrying a little pink purse that seemed out of place with the rest of her outfit.  Katie is aging gracefully and playing the part of the mother of teenaged girls in films instead of being the quintessential teenage girl that we all remember from high school.   

 

Kaia Gerber (Babylon film 2021 film actress/runway model) Gave us glimpses of the past in a 1997 vintage Valentino dress.  The long flowing sheer cape veiled her arms and shoulders in a dress that resembled a wedding dress.  She seemed to be putting together the seams of a very capable actress with each film appearance. 

 

Jenna Ortega (Disney actress of "Stuck in the Middle) in Versace shorts and blazer gave a casual laidback lavender lilac vibe.  The platform heels sort of appeared to elongate her petite frame.  She fervently trying to break out of the role of teen actress and graduate into more mature roles that will showcase her burgeoning sexuality.  She is practically nubile and simmering with a new starlit vitality that screams emerging actress.  This outfit seems as if she is headed to a teen house party or an underground club that is a whimsical and easy-going as her previous acting roles. 

Iris Law (Actress daughter of Jude Law nepo baby) is adorned in designer Yves Saint Laurent dress at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party.  She has modeled for Burberry, Calvin Klein, and Versace.  She has the pixie short bob haircut that has been so ubiquitous at award shows and events in 2025 beckoning back to the old Hollywood era of the 1930's or 1940's

 

Halle Bailey (Disney's live action film 2023 "Little Mermaid" and "Color Purple" actress/singer) is dressed in designer Samuel Gaertner.  The dress was sheer lace exposing her under garments that were matching in red panties and bra lingerie.  This look was recapitulated and regurgitated several times on the red carpet.   Halle's signature long dreadlocks were covered with curly tendrils that thickened her quaff only revealing her subtle natural edges fringed with delicate baby hair.  Her dress was opulently woven with elaborate sequins and beadwork that shimmer on the starlet's sinewy petite frame. Halle was a sister duo with her other half, Chole Bailey.  Chloe seemed to take a sexier and more mature rout to her career even appearing in love scenes for web series Amazon Prime shows such as "Swarm." Halle had two massive movies premier in 2023 only a few months apart.  Halle and Chloe were handpicked by Beyonce' when they covered one of her popular singles on the YouTube.  Previous to that they were child actresses in Beyonce movies such as "Fighting Temptations" in 2003 where Chloe Bailey depicted a young child Beyonce who was in love with Cuba Gooding Jr. Character in the movie.  Some rumors insinuate that Halle Bailey is the next Halle Berry or Beyonce heir apparent to "it girl" in Hollywood.  She had already starred in two iconic Hollywood films with unprecedented musical themes that have garnered many accolades ana critical acclaim (not to mention her sensual fashion sense and relationships with rapper DDG).

 

Emily Ratajkowski ("Gone Girl" actress) in designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin tantalizes in another sheer see-through lace maxi dress revealing her shiny black lingerie underneath. This look was recapitulated several times on the red carpet repeated in this Goth-like look that reminds the onlooker of lingerie of boudoir night gowns.  She appears to be wearing a slinky, sensuous bikini under her sheer black lace gown. 

 

Doechii (rapper) in designer Mui Mui at a 2025 event.  This titillating performer decided to show her bra top under a duffle jacket pairing it with a mid-length pleated skirt.  Socks with flat shoes or kitten heels were seen on several celebrities on the red carpet.  This is sexy attempt at being laidback and girl next door accessible personality and style that is layered with designer labels.  The award-winning rapper did a simple do in wispy cornrows and a top knot bun with lackadaisical loose braids left tickling the sides of her head and neck.  Her attitude was more playful and easy-going in this outfit.  Or you could say she seems like she just rolled out of bed half-dressed and strolled over to the event to be photographed my throngs of fashion reporters and music critics. It may seek irresponsible and disheveled to some, but alluring and fascinating to others. 

 

Demi Moore ("Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Substance" actress) sizzles in a dress by Armani Prive.  This dress looks so familiar.  Doesn't this dress have a similar neckline to the Sydney Sweeney dress that crisscrosses across the neck and bosom with deep cleavage and long flowing maxi length?  Maybe the 62-year-old Hollywood icon Demi Moore wanted to be associated with a younger actress to almost get confused for Sydney.  This is a vein attempt to reclaim her young and vigor.  She does seem to have been, "freshened up" as they say, with dermal fillers and various other cosmetic procedures allegedly used by numerous celebrities her age.  She did manage to win a golden globe for her role in a film this year, which happened to be her first major award victory in her illustrious career. Demi had a string of blockbuster movies that opened to box office success in the 1990's including the movie that inspired the scandalous Will Smith slap at the Oscars, "G.I. Jane" where she had the fashion courage to shave her head like a navy seal to portray the role. 

    Cynthia Erivo (British actress from the 2024 film "Wicked") is standing next to her co-star Ariana Grande.  Cynthia is dressed in designer Alaia.  The designer Azzedine Alaia seems to have designed a piece that seemed to draw inspiration from tribal garb involving cloaks and headdresses.  He is a Tunisian African couture designer that get his fashion sense from observing Muslim customs and native north African regalia. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande is wearing a designer Emporio Armani.  Ariana exposed her shoulders with another minimalist looking austere and without accessories.  The little black dress seemed to dominate the award season of 2025 with an indominable spirt that could not be repressed like one of Cynthia's fervent impassioned songs. 

  

Zoe Saldana won the Oscar in 2025 for best supporting actress for her film "Emilia Perez" She wore a Saint Laurent three-tiered deep red dress with black sheer gloves.  She accented the dress with a diamond neckless that shimmered on her neckline resting at her collar bone.  The floor-length dress concealed her heels and revealed her shoulders.  The voluminous dress seemed to create an amorphous waistline with all of it balloon-like layers and ruffles.  

 

 

The dress she wore the Vanity Fair after party was a more neutral hue that also continued the theme of the omnipresent ruffles and layers effect.  Zoe's Vanity Fair party dress was sassy and sensual high-low mini dress.  The dress was short in the front and long in the back.  The asymmetry of the dress showed off her legs and hid her backside allowing a superfluous train to flow like a river of luxurious fabric behind her. Zoe's Spanish language film showcased her multi-lingual acting chops and displayed a muti-cultural portrayal of a French crime drama.  The obscure designer Anthony Vaccarello made her Vanity Fair dress as Zoe posed for photos with her new accessory (a brand-new Oscar statue). 

 

Zendaya (Euphoria actress/singer) Has won numerous awards and had gotten attention for her daring fashion sense.  She was even given the honor of co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala with her infamous fashion stylist Law Roach.  They attended the event together where Zendaya changed clothes several times.  The metal bodysuit that she wore to the "Dune: Part 2" film 2024 premier was by designer Jean Jacques Urcun.  The bespoke custom-made haut couture bodysuit resembles the sexy femme fatal from the classic Science fiction film "Metropolis". However, I think she looks like a cyborg from a futuristic robot land or a modern suit of armor like a medieval knight.  The metal-looking bodysuit was partially see-through.  Glimpses of her skin perspired underneath the scant patches of clear plastic material. The heat from her hot body was constantly fogging up the transparent parts of the bodysuit making it slippery, wet, and translucent.   

Zendaya donned an array of versatile couture dresses at the 2024 Met Gala when she posed for the role of co-chair.  The long black train of fabric flowed down the stairs as Zendaya ascended to another level in a ballgown designed by John Galliano from retro vintage 1996 collection.  This dress was evoking emo Goth girl vibes for funeral procession from the Victorian era.  The dress was overwhelming and daunting with in constraining and constricting corsetry and enormous layers of taffeta fabric.  The dress was very cumbersome and hard to glide around in.  

The LED dress with light in it was more interesting.  Zendaya wore this innovative dress in 2019.  The light up dress was designed by Tommy Hilfiger who used Zendaya as a vehicle for his brand similar to the way he used Aaliyah to wear his clothes in the 1990's and early 2000's.  The co-designer that is also created with the LED light up Disney princess dress was Hussein Chalayan. The dress was called the Cinderella dress in the press.  

Beyonce (actress/singer/model) has donned variety of various looks this year, from diamonds to denim.  She has been modeling jeans for Levi and strutting around in heels for her numerous award shows.  Her is the one they call Queen Bey at the 2025 Grammy's in a bronze embroidered dress that contours to every curve. The dress was designed by Schiaparelli.  This dramatic and awe-inspiring ensemble was elaborately detailed with intricate beadwork woven upon the paisley pattern.  Beyonce has gone to a platinum shade of hair donning a straight hairdo instead of her iconic curly tresses and short mini dresses.  The 613 hue of hair color is bleach blond instead of her usual golden or honey highlights.  The gargantuan gathering of hair accompanied the new country album "Cowboy Carter." It seems with every new genre and new musical style comes a new look for Beyonce.  Her next album is rumored to be a rock album that will most likely bring a new incarnation of Beyonce's fashion.  

 

Taylor Swift (singer/songwriter/actress) enthralls in a captivating Schiaparelli white dress that had everyone hearing wedding bells and rumors of matrimony with Travis Kelce (pro football player for the Kansas City Chiefs).  Any girl with the name Taylor is going to bring to mind the word tailor.  Any one mention of the word Swift is going to be a synonym for fast or fleeting.  Taylor Swift has been living fast but we hope her fashion trends don't die young.  These classic looks echo the timeless classic glamour of old Hollywood femme fatales.  Taylor Swift is quickly becoming the Hollywood establishment among the same ranks as those golden age of  Hollywood legends such as Lana Turner or Bette Davis or even Jean Harlow one of the first well-known blond bombshells. Swift has swiftly taken her place firmly on the award show pedestal like a limited edition Barbie doll or collectable knickknack.  Taylor has an impressive set of trinkets that the Grammy academy has handed out to her in a record-breaking amount.  It is very difficult to keep pace with Swift as she moves at a lightening speed toward the top of the entertainment world.

Taylor is looking like a fast woman or red sports car in this provocative slip of a dress, by Vivienne Westwood.  Each dress is tailored to Taylor to perfection to emphasize every curve and to hide every flaw.   This years Taylor Swift's 2025 Grammy dress was designed by Vivienne Westwood, the edgy former punk British designer.  Vivienne Westwood became famous in the 1970's for designing clothes worn by rock musicians.
